Whether you've never held needles before or just need a refresher, you'll learn all the basics and complete two cozy, stylish projects: a scarf and a beanie hat. All in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment!
Course Schedule & Breakdown
Week 1: Knitting Basics & Starting Your Scarf
Introduction to knitting tools and yarn types
How to cast on and knit the basic knit stitch
Understanding gauge and tension
Project Start: Begin knitting your scarf
Week 2: Knitting Techniques & Progress
Purl stitch and combining knit/purl for texture (e.g., ribbing)
How to fix common mistakes
Continue scarf – Option to add fringe or color changes
Week 3: Knitting in the Round & Hat Basics
Introduction to circular needles and knitting in the round
Decreasing stitches and shaping a hat
Reading simple knitting patterns
Project Start: Begin your beanie hat
Week 4: Finishing Projects & Knitting Community
Finishing techniques (binding off, weaving in ends, blocking)
Adding pom-poms or embellishments
What’s Included:
Hands-on instruction in a small group setting
Knitting pattern for hat & scarf
Yarn and needle recommendations
Support between classes if you get stuck
Materials Needed:
Worsted-weight yarn (2 colors recommended)
1 pair of straight needles (US size 8 or 9)
1 set of circular needles (16" US size 8) for the hat
Tapestry needle, scissors, stitch markers
